KRK - Nicolás Ramírez

The Powered V4 and V6 V-Series 4 studio monitors from KRK They stand as essential solutions for the daily work of the producer, mixing engineer and sound designer of films, documentaries and series Nicolás Ramírez.

Music and sound effects have always been crisscross as a single entity in your Nicolás Ramírez creative workflow. Your appreciation for multiculturalism and their influence on his music has continually inspired him to create a unique identity for all his projects. To carry out this task, Ramírez relies on his studio monitors Powered V4 y V6 V-Series 4 of KRK, solutions, in his own words, “very dynamic and rich in sound”, allowing him to “capture the right vibe of the track”.

Ramirez considers it essential to have monitors that sound realistic, which is why he decided on KRK solutions: "During the mixing process, I need speakers that sound good and are quick and easy to use. My V6s are not too bright or too bassy; they work well and sound great. The V4s have a smaller diaphragm that translates well to a variety of listening scenarios, so I can evaluate how my songs will sound in any other environment. Whether my songs are played in a theater, through consumer headphones, in an airport or in the car, I know that what I am hearing in the Series V will be what the public experiences too.”

Additionally, in the moments in which Ramírez has been on the road directing the front of house for Camilo, his monitors KRK V-Series have done double duty as near-field speakers: “The monitors are vibrant and tend to have solid sound quality in noisy situations, which is important for a concert tour.” Additionally, Ramírez, who never strays too far from his role as producer, uses portable self-powered studio monitors GoAux de KRK to work even on tour: "I travel a lot when I'm on tour, and I like to have a solution that's easy to set up on the road. The KRK GoAux sound great, and the case they come in is incredible. I never have to worry about where I'm going to store all the parts."

Ramirez He graduated in audio engineering from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, in Bogotá, Colombia, and later earned his Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in sound design from the Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia. From 2018 to 2021, Ramírez was the chief recording and mixing engineer at Art House, the studio of Grammy Award winner Julio Reyes Copello. Now, as an independent producer, Ramírez continues to use his arsenal of KRK equipment both in the studio and on the road.
