Engineer Manuel Gómez Zotano, new director of Systems and Innovation at RTVE

The until now director of Exploitation and Development of Interactives, Manuel Gómez Zotano (Manilva, 1975), assumes the direction of Systems and Innovation in RTVE, a company to which he has been professionally linked for 22 years and in which he has held different positions of responsibility.

Doctor in Computer Science from the Complutense University of Madrid and Computer Engineer from the Higher Technical School of Computer Science of the University of Málaga, Manuel Gómez Zotano began his professional career at RTVE in 2003.

From February 2016 to the present he has been director of Exploitation and Development of Interactives. Previously he was deputy director of Crossmedia of the RTVE Digital Directorate (2015-2016) and for eleven years head of Projects of the Development department of the Interactive Media area (2004-2015). From 2003 to 2004 he was a Systems Analyst at RTVE.

Throughout this time he has also occupied positions of responsibility in the EBU. From March 2018 to September 2019 he was president of the Digital Services Group and from 2003 to 2012 he was technically responsible for the EBU's IT operations for the Olympic events of Athens 2004, Torino 2006, Beijing 2008, Vancouver 2010 and London 2012.

Among the relevant projects that he has undertaken during this time, the strategic direction and execution of SETELECO's assignment to RTVE for the design of the new RTVE Play in December 2024 or the launch on that same date of the RTVE knowledge graph. Also the direction and execution of the RTVE Olympic portals for Paris 2024, Tokyo 2021, Rio 2016 and London 2012 or the launch of RTVE Play in 2021. He has also participated in other projects such as the implementation of the hybrid cloud of RTVE (2020-2021) or the launch of the MyRTVE project (2019).

Master in Design, Management and Project Management from the Ibero-American University Foundation-Polytechnic University of Catalonia, he also has a Higher Master in Java Technologies and a Higher Master in Oracle 9i Development Technologies, both at the Novatech Institute,
