The tenth edition of the festival Tenerife Black has hosted a round table in which Koldo Serra, director of 'Reina Roja', and Juan Gómez-Jurado, writer, have shared all kinds of details of the second season of the series, which is entering the post-production phase.

The long-awaited second season of Red Queen, the successful series of Prime Video based on the trilogy by Gómez-Jurado, has recently concluded filming in Madrid. Koldo Serra He has not hesitated to affirm that this season has been one of the most physically and emotionally demanding shoots for his team and protagonists. As detailed, scenes of extreme difficulty were recorded, with temperatures close to 40 degrees in the middle of Madrid's Gran Vía and up to 4 degrees below zero in nighttime filming, including scenes in the water starring Hovik Keuchkerian: "They are very hard series because they are very physical; the same thing you are filming under the Madrid subway at four degrees, or in the Manzanares at minus four with the actors immersed in the water," he explained.

Both officials have also advanced that the second season will go deeper than ever into the inner universe of Antonia Scott (Vicky Luengo), especially highlighting the “innovative use” of visual effects and music. As an example of the care and precision with which they work, Gómez-Jurado mentioned the music creation from the first season: "The music was made before visual production began; Antonia Scott and John's musical themes progressively merge throughout the series, creating a perfect metaphor for their relationship." For his part, Serra highlighted the importance of acting work in the most complex scenes with visual effects: "If you don't have an actress of Vicky's stature, who can really convey what she is not seeing, we would not have achieved such a shocking result. In some certain scenes, she had to imagine everything that was happening around her, fully trusting in the direction and the visual effects. It was a complex experience, but the result is incredible."

The post-production of the second season has just begun, after filming ended just a few days ago. Although Amazon Prime Video has not yet confirmed the exact premiere date, it is speculated that it could reach late 2025 or early 2026. Gómez-Jurado and Serra insisted that this new season will increase the intensity and will offer a even more impressive visual spectacle than the previous one.
