Anime 2025

The International Festival of Animation, Visual Effects and Video Games Anime, the first and only in Spain designated a "Qualifying Festival" by the Hollywood Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for the Oscars in two categories, presents part of its training offer that will take place between May 7 and 10.

Up to a total of 14 masterclasses and 6 workshops They will be held at the CICCA space in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and will be given by experts among the more than 40 guests and star speakers of the twentieth edition of Animayo. Artists from various disciplines, creators of studios, production companies and national and international schools who have left their mark in varied and applauded titles over time; many of them with multiple nominations and awards such as Oscar, Peabody, Emmy, Goya, Annie, Annecy or VES (Visual Effects Society Awards), among others.

Masterclasses

Among the contents of the masterclasses and panel, we will find 3D animation, narrative and gaming with computational arts, visual effects (VFX), video games, character design, narrative, visual development, dubbing (panel), storyboard for cinematic scenes, creative vision and business structure, and animation production. These masterclasses, free for subscribers and with tickets already on sale for the general public at the CICCA space box office for fifteen euros, have a duration of 90 minutes each and will have a translation into Spanish, summarized by their presentation phases.

Workshops

As far as workshops are concerned, now available on the Animayo website with discounts for subscribers, students and the unemployed, these will last 240 minutes each and will be focused on practical learning of skills and abilities in the areas of storyboarding, concept art, character design, dubbing, video games and Acting for animation. Taught by Raul Garcia, director, producer and animator (Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Lion King). Miriam Hidalgo (Perditah), 2D artist, illustrator, teacher and visual development artist for animation (Chico and Rita, Nocturna, They are unique). Come on, Competition, director and teacher at UNAM. Portfolio review

In addition to the autograph signing sessions, which will take place within the next half hour after the end of each masterclass and workshop, several of the guest speakers, studios, universities and schools mentioned here, (indicated in descriptions within the program), will be part of the Portfolio Review team that will take place at the Literary Cabinet on different dates. All in all, it is only part of the extensive programming that as a whole also includes 15 educational presentations, 6 premieres and screenings with the official sections in competition and the best of Animayo from the last four editions, 3 author presentations, 5 school stands, 20 talent stands, 18 hours of recruitments, portfolio reviews and signatures, in addition to family plans that will be revealed.
