The filming of ‘The Caregiver’ begins, the next Álex de la Church movie

Pokeepsie films (Banijay iberia) Wheel for Netflix ‘The caretaker’, feature film of Álex de la Iglesia that will be shot in full in 35 mm.

Carmen Maura (The community, Someone has to die) will lead the cast of this mystery thriller next to Blanca Suárez (The fourth passenger, Breathe), returning to work both actresses in a new project of the director. They complete the cast Marta Hazas (Velvet, Crystal girls), Asier Etxea (Pain and glory, Sky Rojo) and David Comrie (The Money Heist, the arrival).

The Caretaker is a production of Pokeepsie films (Bearian Banijay), con Carolina Bang and Álex de la Iglesia as executive producers and script signed by Jelen Morales and Álex de la Iglesia. The filming started this week in Madrid and will be extended until mid -July, and this will be developed entirely in 35 mm.

This is the synopsis of The caretaker: "When Carmen, a widow 80 -year -old woman, suffers a domestic accident, her daughter Lourdes decides to hire an assistant to help her in her day to day. Ussed to live alone, Carmen rejects all candidates, she feels invaded in her own home. What despairs her daughter, who sees her life affected by the constant attention that her mother requires."

"The distressing parade of assistors resent the marriage of Lourdes. Mario, her husband, is forced to reject an important job offer. Lourdes, fed up with the process of interviewing, hiring and saying goodbye, discusses with her mother, which makes her feel guilty."

"When it seems that no assistant can ever take care of Carmen, Blanca arrives, a woman of angelic appearance, is kind, efficient and resolutive. But things are not as everyone expected. Blanca hides a secret, which will change Carmen's life forever."
