The documentary producer Making Doc makes the leap into fiction

In the year in which it celebrates its 15th anniversary, the film production company Making Doc lanza su nueva marca Making Doc & Film y anuncia la creación de una nueva área dedicada a la producción de cine de ficción y series.

With a consolidated track record in the documentary genre, the company directed by Juan Antonio Moreno and Silvia Venegas, opens this new creative stage as part of its natural evolution. This strategic expansion represents a firm step in the creative diversification of the production company, betting on new formats that allow it to continue telling stories of social impact that transform reality.

Este salto a la ficción coincide con un momento clave para Making Doc & Film: el estreno previsto para este año de su nuevo largometraje documental I remember your name directed by Silvia Venegas, winner of the Goya Award for Best Documentary Short Film.

Además de su labor como productora, Making Doc & Film continuará organizando tres de los principales eventos del sector cinematográfico en Extremadura: la Extremadura Film Residency, he Extremadura Film Market and the Extremeño and Ibero-American Film Week which will be held this year in Guadalupe (Cáceres) from November 24 to 30. The producer thus consolidates its commitment to the development of the region.

The Extremadura Film Residency promotes film projects in development by filmmakers from Latin America, Spain and Extremadura. A unique space for creation and meeting that highlights a cinema that is committed to diversity, unique perspectives and the peripheries.

The Extremadura Film Market is the main audiovisual market in the region that connects film professionals and where the main agents of the film industry in Extremadura, Spain, Portugal and Latin America participate.

The Extremaduran and Ibero-American Film Week is a space for exhibition and meeting with the public that celebrates Extremaduran and Ibero-American cinema, promoting cultural ties with Latin America.

Los fundadores de Making Doc & Film, Juan Antonio Moreno y Silvia Venegas, se han mostrado muy ilusionados con este nuevo proyecto: “Cumplir 15 años es una celebración en sí misma pero además significa la oportunidad de seguir creciendo, innovando y explorando nuevas formas de narrar el mundo. Hemos aprendido a mirar el mundo con profundidad a través del documental y ahora queremos ampliar ese lenguaje hacia la ficción sin perder nuestra identidad”.

Desde su creación, Making DOC & FILM ha sido reconocida por abordar historias de gran sensibilidad social y artística, con presencia en festivales internacionales y nacionales y un enfoque narrativo original, comprometido y profundamente humano. Sus películas han recibido dos Premios Goya a Mejor Cortometraje Documental y otras dos nominaciones en la misma categoría. Además, han obtenido dos selecciones para los Premios de Cine Europeo a Mejor Largometraje Documental y una candidatura para los Premios Óscar.
