Audinate (Dante) IBC 2025

The improvement in the interoperability of Dante announced by Audinate in IBC 2025 (September 12 – 15) allow configuration of ST 2110-30 and AES67 directly in Dante Controller and support for a 96 kHz sample rate, among other improvements.

Audinate (Dante) IBC 2025The latest updates of Dante (Audinate) offer broadcasters a greater flexibility when managing audio streams ST 2110-30 y AES67, whether they work in a mobile unit or in an operation with multiple installations. The tasks of basic configuration, such as defining flow parameters and adjusting PTPv2 clock settings, can now be completed directly in Dante Controller without the need for Dante Domain Manager.

This simplifies setup in smaller or high-pressure environments, where cloud- or server-based tools may not be practical. For larger or more complex systems, broadcasters can still use Dante Domain Manager to automate configuration, apply global policies, and coordinate settings across subnets, while taking advantage of expanded device-level control.

High fidelity

These improvements are complemented by the 96 kHz audio support, enabling broadcasters to meet the demands of high-fidelity production workflows such as music programming, immersive audio and live events. Additionally, Dante becomes compatible with compliance levels ST 2110-30 AX, BX y CX, ensuring interoperability with systems and equipment operating at higher sample rates.

New device-level configuration capabilities further expand the usefulness of Dante in broadcast environments. Various enhancements designed to improve compatibility with third-party devices, support a greater variety of network designs, and provide long-term flexibility as systems expand and evolve include features such as the ability to allocate flows within a Wider multicast address range, define RTP Payload ID customized and specify PTPv2 clock DSCP values.

Mark Gerrard, product manager of Audinate, believes that these improvements reinforce Dante's role as “a bridge between audio and video workflows in modern broadcast networks.” “Interoperability has always been central to our approach, and as broadcast networks and production needs continue to evolve, we remain focused on expanding Dante's capabilities to meet real-world demands,” he explains.

The new features will be available starting in fall 2025 via firmware updates for select Dante devices designed for high channel counts, along with a software update for the Dante Controller.
