The Goya Pablo de la Chica points to fiction with the filming of 'A Beautiful lie'
'A Beautiful lie' has just completed filming: it is the next short film by Pablo de la Chica, winner of the Goya Award for best documentary short film for 'Mama'.
Filmed on location Toronto, Hamilton, Missisauga and USA, A Beautiful lie has been produced by Pirulos Productions, Salon India Film y Cineaste Production. There is still no date for this co-production between Spain and Canada, which will surely have a relevant position in the next festival circuit.
A Beautiful lie follows the story of Javier (Jorge Blanco), a young immigrant whose visa expires in three weeks. With his sick mother, a precarious job in construction and without a work permit despite being an architect, he decides to try a desperate plan: cross the border to the US to get his passport stamped and earn six more months. However, his strategy fails and he ends up arrested.
