The Iris 2025 TV Academy Awards begin their countdown with their first nominees dinner
The Academy of Television and Audiovisual Sciences and Arts The Iris 2025 Awards Nominees' Dinner was held at the Real Casa de Correos, headquarters of the Presidency of the Community of Madrid, in which prominent faces of the audiovisual sector, as well as managers of networks and platforms, took part.
The nominees' dinner is an “unprecedented meeting” conceived as a recognition of the “excellence, quality and talent of the professionals and formats of our industry” in the last year. The event serves as a prelude to the gala of the Iris Awards 2025, which will be held on February 16 at the Teatro Real and will be broadcast exclusively by Movistar Plus+.
The evening, which had the support of the Community of Madrid, meeting a nominated professionals in the entertainment, fiction and informative categories, along with representatives of chains, platforms and production companies. Among the attendees were prominent faces of the audiovisual industry, such as Pedro Casablanc, Jordi Cruz, Pepe Rodríguez, Paula Vázquez, Miguel Ángel Muñoz, Blanca Martínez, El Gran Wyoming, Sandra Sabatés, Ana Terradillos, Sandra Golpe, Alejandra Herranz, Susana Guasch, Noemí de Miguel, Luis Fernández, José Yélamo, Juan Ibáñez (Trancas), Eduardo Sáenz de Cabezón, José Luis Pérez, Natalia Huarte, Ester Bertrán, David Moreno, Paloma Rando, Ariel Lois, Manuel Campo Vidal, Patricia Cerezo, Isma Juárez, Lorena Díaz, Macarena Rey, Kike Maillo, Javier Ferreiro y Felix Sabroso, in addition to numerous professionals nominated in the different categories. Likewise, executives from chains and platforms attended, among them, Simon Amselem, Sofia Fabregas, Cristina Garmendia, Jaime War, Paco Moreno, Jorge Ortiz of Landazuri, Ricardo Cabornero, Elena Bort, Jose Maria Caro, Bibiana Gonzalez, Ramon Camblor, Jorge Losada o Lucía Fernández del Viso, among others.
The event began with the words of the vice president of the Television Academy, Jota Abril, which gave way to the different participants. Next, the Deputy Minister of Culture, Tourism and Sports of the Community of Madrid, Luis Martin Izquierdo, offered a welcome to the attendees, followed by the intervention of Maria Casado, president of the Television Academy, who stressed the value of this meeting as a collective recognition of the work of professionals in the sector: "Congratulations to all the nominees for your passion for the profession and for your work. Getting here is already an award, among so many good audiovisual productions that our country has," highlighted the president.
The event reinforces the role of the Television Academy as meeting point, dialogue and cohesion of the Spanish audiovisual sector, and expands “the story” of the Iris Awards, which this year launches a visual identity and a renewed focus under the motto ““You make them”, and claim that values the role of the audiovisual sector as the sector with the greatest social reach and as a reflection of the diversity of society and its stories.
