Nevion Improves VideoIPath Control Capabilities with New Panel Builder
The Sony subsidiary, Nevion, introduces a major enhancement to the broadcast control capabilities of its flagship media orchestration platform, VideoIPath, with the launch of the new Panel Builder tool that will allow you to easily design, configure and manage hardware control panels, without the need for physical devices during configuration.
The new Panel Builder, which will be shown for the first time at NAB 2026, offers aVisual presentation of hardware panels supported directly within VideoIPath, allowing users to assign actions such as terminal switching, connect/disconnect commands, profile or parameter settings, and multi-page navigation using a simple drag-and-drop design. The system also supports advanced configurations such as stacked panels, where multiple hardware panels work seamlessly as one.
At launch, Panel Builder is Compatible with Sony MKS-R4020 and Elgato StreamDeck Studio control panels, and more will be added in the future.
This new functionality Dramatically simplifies both initial deployment and ongoing operations. Users can create designs offline, replicate them across multiple locations or devices, and replace field panels instantly without needing to redesign configurations. Because all logic resides within VideoIPath rather than the panel hardware, the system offers more advanced functionality than standalone hardware typically supports, providing a significant operational advantage for broadcasters.
This improvement is based on the rapid adoption of VideoIPath as a broadcast control system (BCS) by broadcasters around the world, who are choosing this platform over more traditional control solutions thanks to its flexibility, scalability and powerful orchestration functions.
The latest version of VideoIPath software also includes Integrations with Riedel, Arista MCS and Sony CNA-2 camera control, as well as a tag dictionary for assigning structured tags to endpoints and various system improvements.
Arne-Johan Martinsen, Product Manager for VideoIPath at Nevion, explains that "the new Panel Builder is a big step forward in making playout control more intuitive, powerful and flexible. It's all part of our commitment to continually evolve VideoIPath to meet the needs of modern IP-based production."
