NVP uses audio solutions, video processing and control of Lawo in its new UM 4K
The Italian Audiovisual Services Company premieres its mobile unit 4 endowed with two Lawo Mc²56 production consoles, Valley Grass cameras, a Nova router and Dallis interfaces.
NVP has just incorporated a mobile unit fully prepared for production in UHD 4K. The Italian audiovisual services company will offer from this mobile unit productions in SD, HD, UHD, SDR and HDR.
Together with his local partner Aret, the German manufacturer Lawo has provided its audio, video and automation processing systems.
The heart of the UM 4 audio systems is formed by two Lawo Mc²56 production consoles, a nova router and Dallis interfaces. All mobile unit equipment is controlled by the sophisticated VSM (Virtual Studio Manager) system by Lawo. In addition, it has the V__Pro8 video processing units of 8 Lawo channels, offering all the necessary features in the production workflow in a compact equipment of only 1RU. Boards, audio and VSM consoles guarantee the necessary versatility for multiformat operation in the most challenging productions throughout Europe.
The new NVP unit will be used in the broadcast of events such as the Italian Football Series A Series A (produced in 4K), concerts and musical events and conferences to the highest profile. Recently, it was used in the coverage of the G7 Summit in Taormina last May, when NVP acted as a Broadcaster host.
UM 4 is equipped with cameras Grass Valley (20 4K LDX86N and 8 LDX82 Worldcam, all with HDR functionality) that can be simultaneously operated, Dolby E, 12 repetition stations and six positions to produce. With two dedicated audio and video control rooms, all sources can be handled separately to supply any type of production, signal such as Host BroadCaster or national signal integration.
Ivan Pintabona, technical director of NVP, admits that "one of the reasons why we chose Lawo is his great reliability. But, above all, the most decisive was Lawo's functionality and his ability to find concrete solutions to the operational problems we have in a mobile unit of this category every day."
Power and versatility
Pintabona adds that “the results are very obvious. If a mobile unit has a coherent and open infrastructure, as is the case of UM 4, Lawo solutions provide extreme power and versatility, opening the infrastructure to any interaction making complex operations simple and establishing interconnections that easily support complex remote production capacities. range.
The two Lawo Mc²56 audio consoles are connected to a NOVA router and Dallis interfaces. As “Gue” equipment, the production company is based on the updated V__Pro8 processors of Lawo, allowing the connection of different video formats, as well as the audio and video connection. High quality format conversion, color correction and embedded and mounted from audio make the V__pro 8 a compact and powerful video processor, joining different worlds and transmission formats.
Due to its use in 4K UHD HDR productions, HD 1080P HDR and HD 1080i SDR Multiformato, the company needed a powerful control system so they opted for VSM since it controls the entire pertinent unit, including Labeling and Tally. Finally, note that since the system is executed in an IP backbone, the new NVP unit has been designed to work for a future to work tomorrow in an IP environment.
