Aimed at sub-Saharan Africa, this MCPC platform will be hosted on Astra 4A (Sirius 4) at 5º East.

satlinkSatLink Communications has already acquired enough satellite capacity from Astra to launch its new DTH platform aimed at audiences in sub-Saharan Africa. The platform will be hosted at Astra 4A (Sirius 4), at 5º East, and aims to become a powerful MCPC (Multi-Channel Per Carrier) platform for broadcasters who want to reach clients south of the Sahara.

David Hochner, CEO of SatLink, highlighted that this is a "highly anticipated platform as it strategically extends our global content distribution experience. Africa is a rapidly growing market and SatLink's geographic location between Europe, Africa and Asia makes our new platform ideal for the extension of broadcasting services or exploitation in the African market."

SatLink's new DTH platform will offer the possibility of contracting free or encrypted channels, facilitating up and down links from Europe to sub-Saharan Africa, with satellite dishes of just 90 cm. The African platform thus adds to those that SatLink already has in Europe, Asia, North America, the Middle East and Australia, complemented by an extensive global fiber network.
