The XTVL (Xarxa de Televisions Locals) selects Tedial technology for the management of network content of the 52 local television stations in Catalonia. The Tarsys audiovisual archiving system will provide the members of the XTVL with a common platform for the conservation and preservation of their audiovisual heritage.
The images generated by the local television stations integrated into this group managed by the Xarxa Audiovisual Local (XAL), a public business entity created by the Barcelona Provincial Council, as well as those from different agencies will be transmitted to the Tarsys archive where they will be registered and made available to all members of the XTVL for downloading through an IP network.
Thanks to the high level of integration provided by Tedial's Media Process Manager system, the coexistence of the Tarsys file with the XTVL production systems is guaranteed, thus eliminating the compatibility problems that exist in a heterogeneous environment where elements from multiple manufacturers coexist.
The Tedial filing system replaces the previous content manager used by the XTVL, multiplying the file capacity by 12 and providing great advantages in terms of management capabilities, level of integration, robustness and scalability. The content stored in the old manager will be migrated to the new file, thus allowing its exploitation by all local television stations in Catalonia. The incorporation of Tedial's AST system, for the management of hierarchical storage on LTO disks/tapes/shelves, provides unlimited growth capacity for the XTVL audiovisual archive.
Advanced Features
To access the new Tarsys filing system, Tedial will provide the XTVL with a set of tools that will facilitate the consultation and download of content through web interfaces. These query tools offer advanced functionality such as creating edit lists and partially downloading content. Both features, together with the possibility of previewing images stored in a low-resolution format based on the H.264 standard, allow you to optimize network resources, minimizing the investment in the communications infrastructure necessary for the connection of all members of the XTVL.
All available options exploit the advantages offered by both the corporate application/server integration system (MPM) and LDAP-based user management, providing a guarantee of control and fundamental security in professional publishing environments.
