RTVE has once again trusted Sapec to carry out the supply, installation, configuration and maintenance of the encoders, multiplexers and monitoring equipment that make up the new RTVE satellite headend for Africa.
It is a completely redundant satellite headend (1+1) that will upload the International Channel and the Radio Exterior and Radio 1 channels to satellite.
The encoders and multiplexers supplied belong to the SIVAC family, designed and manufactured by Sapec. The encoder model supplied is the SIVAC 2000, mounted in a 2RU chassis, which incorporates a redundant power supply and has the capacity for up to 4 encoder boards. A SIVAC 2000 decoder will also be supplied that will allow RTVE to monitor the signal delivered to the modulator in baseband.
The multiplexers selected for this project are the SIVAC MTS 1400, which allow up to 8 inputs and 2 ASI outputs, performing automatic switching in case of failure of one of the inputs.
