70 million homes will enjoy IPTV services in 2014
SNL Kagan predicts in a study on IPTV that subscriptions to IP television services will increase from 40 million in 2010 to 70 million in 2014. In Latin America this growth will be 114% within three years.
IPTV is increasing at a rate of 92.4% in the last six years according to a study by SNL Kagan. This study predicts that subscriptions to IP television services will grow from 40 million in 2010 to 70 million in 2014.
The greatest growth between now and 2014 would occur in Western Europe, a market in which 26.7 million subscribers would be reached (with a notable increase of 24.4% in Eastern Europe). In the case of China, this figure would rise to 12.4 billion households.
For Latin America, SNL Kagan forecasts growth of 114% between now and 2014.
According to the report, revenue from IPTV services will rise from $12.9 billion in 2010 to $27 billion in 2014, which would represent 11 percent of global pay TV revenue.
Furthermore, revenue from IPTV services will increase from $12.9 billion in 2010 to $27 billion in 2014, accounting for 11% of total revenue from pay TV services.
