Wide deployment of TVE on the occasion of the 2012 Dakar Rally
Javier Grima will be responsible for the operation, completing the team with Albert Palau and Laura Lázaro for production and Ana Ruiz for production.
From January 1 to January 15, Spanish Television will broadcast the special program daily on Teledeporte Rally Dakar 2012, from 9:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. In addition, viewers will also find out the last hour of the Rally from the news programs on TVE, RNE and RTVE.es.
The program, produced live from the TVE Center in Catalonia, will be directed and presented by Marc Martín, TVE's special envoy to the Dakar Rally in 2006, 2007 and 2009 and with extensive experience in the world of motorsport, who has stated that "some of the drivers have said that it is the most African rally held in South America." Montse Busquets, editor of TVE, will also participate in the presentation, who will update the classifications, since at the time the program is broadcast some participants are still crossing the finish line; He will ask the guests questions from the program's viewers through the Rtve.es website dedicated to the Dakar and through Twitter and will outline what characteristics will define the next day's stage.
Along with them will be Carlos Sotelo, triple Spanish enduro champion, participant in the Rally eight times, always in the motorcycle category, whose best classification occurred in 1996, when he finished in third position. In addition to his experience as a driver, Carlos Sotelo has in his background having manufactured the motorcycle with which Marc Coma debuted in the Dakar Rally in the 2002 edition. And every day a special guest will sit next to Marc and Carlos: a former participant in the Dakar, an active rider, a team leader, a mechanic, a journalist...; In any case, a character known to the general public and a lover of the most intense and exciting race in the world of motorsport.
The other side of the Dakar
And, in this edition of the Rally, Jesús and Ashley will travel in the Rally aboard a truck. The presence of a TVE truck at the Dakar 2012 will be used for the production of a series of reports called The other side of the Dakar.
