Grass Valley demonstrates 8K editing with Edius at InterBEE for the first time
This demonstration is being carried out after learning of Japan's intention to produce the Tokyo 2020 Games in 8K (16 times high definition).
Coinciding with InterBEE (Tokyo, November 13 to 15), Grass Valley is carrying out demonstrations of its Edius 7 non-linear editor working with 8K material. This demonstration is carried out after learning of Japan's intention to produce the Tokyo 2020 Games in 8K (16 times high definition).
Edius' support for these very high resolutions is possible thanks to Grass Valley's HQX codec, which improves response in real-time editing with 4K and 8K material. Featuring a native 64-bit architecture, Edius 7 is the latest version of Grass Valley editing software and is ideal for a variety of production and broadcast environments. It supports all major file formats, and you can edit in real time, without rendering.
Mike Cronk, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Grass Valley, said: "Edius is widely used around the world, and we are excited to be able to conduct a demonstration in 8K. In this exciting technical introduction, we will work with 8K clips demonstrating the capabilities of Edius."
