NC1100L and NC1040L laser projectors NEC Display Solutions They have obtained the Cinema Initiative (DCI) digital certification. This certification demonstrates NEC's commitment to innovation while continuing to maintain standards that ensure quality, interoperability, safety and compatibility required in the digital film industry. NEC Display Solutions is the first company in the market with two laser projectors compatible with the DCI requirements.

Gerd Kaiser, Product Line Manager for Large Venue Projectors of NEC Display Solutions Europe, stressed that “Digital Cinema Initiative (DCI) establishes the standards for digital film projectors. Laser projectors offer great reliability, a small cost of small operation and a long duration, as well as a wide range of colors and a large resolution. spectators expect from current digital cinema. ”

The NC1100L is the first compact digital film projector that uses a blue laser light source and, thanks to its high quality, it is the perfect 2K digital film projection solution for both screens up to 11 meters and for small projection rooms. On the other hand, the NC1040L offers a 4K resolution and the widest range of the world, providing the best image quality to the most demanding cinephiles. It is designed for screens up to 10 meters.

Thanks to their integrated light source, both projectors have up to 20,000 hours of useful life and only need occasional cleaning of the filter, advantages that significantly decrease the maintenance cost. These projectors are also the only ones in the world that meet the Laser Class 3R in IEC60825-1 Edition2, the international standard for the digital film market.

The test to verify compliance with the DCI was carried out by the Institute for Research for Digital Media and Contents (DMC) of the Keio University in Japan. This center is one of the three entities that have the Cinema Initiatives digital license to perform the DCI (DCI CTP) compliance test worldwide.

Many cinemas already trust NEC technology to offer solutions that cover both digital signage and projection for film screens. Some prominent cinemas that already use NEC DS solutions are the abacus cinemas in Spain and the cinemas of the Odeon UCI group, the largest film operator in Europe.

All these new 4K projectors solutions can be seen during the 2014 Cinema Event that will take place in Barcelona from June 16 to 19. NEC Display Solutions will be present at the Site D of the BC Barcelona Forum Hotel.
