LIVE: Conference 'Strategies and scenarios for UHF networks and services'

Organized by the Spanish Association of Telecommunications Engineers of the Community of Madrid (AEIT) and the RTVE Institute, today, Tuesday, the conference 'Strategies and scenarios for UHF networks and services' is being held at the Secretary of State for Telecommunications and IS.

The deployment of LTE mobile communications services in the UHF band is a reality that Spain will have to face throughout the European Union as of January 1, 2015.

Given the situation that the sector is going through, with the extension in the use of the band to the 700 MHz sub-band, in what is already known as the second digital dividend in favor of telephone operators, renowned experts in this industry will debate and analyze this process at the conference convened by the AEIT and the RTVE Institute, which takes place on December 16 at the Secretary of State for Telecommunications and IS.

With the title 'Strategies and scenarios for UHF networks and services', this conference is serving to show that, although this band has been used since the dawn of television for the broadcasting service, the first step that has allowed this deployment to begin has been the reassignment of the 800 MHz sub-band to mobile communications services, a process known as digital dividend.
