Movistar+ awards Eurocom a matrix and a multiscreen for its renewed studios
The matrix is an Evertz EQX that, from a 16 RU chest, is capable of managing 194x432 crosspoints (expandable to 288x576). As for the multiscreen, Movistar+ has opted for an Evertz VIP-X.
Coinciding with the technological renovation of studios 1 and 3 in Tres Cantos (Madrid), Movistar+ has awarded Eurocom Broadcast the delivery and integration of a matrix and a multi-screen system.
The matrix is a Evertz EQX which, from a 16 RU chest, is capable of managing 194x432 crossing points (expandable to 288x576). This 3G HD matrix incorporates Evertz's XLink technology and stands out for its high redundancy, making it ideal in mission-critical environments and 24/7 operation.
Offering an independent data path, EQX arrays support all types of signals from 3 MB/s to 3 GB/s, including SD-SDI, HD-SDI, 3G-SDI, DVB-ASI and SMPTE310 digital video formats, as well as IP gateway (IPG) media cards for hybrid routing solutions SDVN, optical formats and other high data rate signals.
Another advantage of the EQX is that all its inputs and outputs are modularly hot-swappable from the front of the die. In fact, the advanced design of the EQX ensures that all active components including input/output crosspoint modules, raster controllers, cooling fans and power supplies are accessible from the front of the rack and can be hot-swapped at any time.
In addition, Evert has developed a specific technology to reduce energy consumption and heat dissipation, using quieter fans and reducing noise.
The inspired modular approach of the EQX design offers excellent in-service expansion capabilities. In addition, its intelligent automatic configuration allows the access route to each destination to be independent, reconfiguring instantly.
The EQX provides extensive monitoring of both input and output signals, supply voltages, internal temperature and fan speed. All monitored data is accessible via SNMP and compatible with VistaLink PRO comprehensive monitoring.
As for audio, it supports the ability to determine embedded AES audio from any input signal and deliver it as discrete AES, analog audio, MADI, or A-LINK Studer signals. You can also reintegrate (in any order) audio with other embedded AES channels, analog inputs, discrete AES, MADI, and/or Studer A-Link into any video output.
As for the multiscreen chosen by Movistar+, it is the Evertz VIP-X. This solution addresses common challenges by combining a control room routing platform and highly reliable multi-image display system in a single integrated modular package. VIP-X has the advanced Xenon, EQX, MVP and VIP technologies.
The VIP-X multi-display eliminates system complexity, saves space and is also adaptable to all control room signals.
