Platinum IP3 Matrix Boosts Ultra HD Production at TVB Hong Kong

Hong Kong's largest broadcaster chooses Imagine's IP-ready high-density baseband routing for both its main studios and its latest mobile unit.

Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB), Hong Kong's largest broadcaster, has chosen the new generation of Platinum matrices from Imagine Communications for their live operations in both their main studio and their new mobile unit.

TVB has installed a Platinum IP3 array at the heart of its production center. A second Platinum IP3 28RU provides signal management on your new Ultra HD mobile unit.

Andy Cheung, Chief Engineering Engineer at TVB, comments, "Since the 1990s, we have been working with Imagine Communications to implement solutions such as baseband arrays, processing, broadcast servers and automation systems. This time we chose Platinum IP3 to meet our signal routing needs."

Along with signal allocation, Platinum IP3 covers the live operations of TVB's main studios by offering a wide range of integrated functionalities, including frame synchronization, multi-screening and audio multiplexing/demultiplexing and shuffling.

Of note, the 4K UHD mobile unit was used at the 2017 UCI Indoor Cycling World Championships held in Hong Kong last April as well as other international events throughout this year.
