Powered by Avid MediaCentral, the Finnish broadcaster invests in a story-centric news workflow for efficient content creation and cross-platform distribution.

MTV3 Finland

Finland's leading commercial television network, MTV3, has launched a workflow in its news based on the platform Avid MediaCentral allows you to create and deliver a wide range of multimedia content to audiences across television, web and digital platforms.

Part of the Bonnier Group, one of the largest media companies in the Nordic countries, MTV3 and its production subsidiary, Mediahub, has the largest audience among Finnish commercial television channels. It broadcasts news programs twice a day, seven days a week, as well as a wide range of content including sports, entertainment and movies that reach millions of viewers.

Risto Koivula, CTO of MTV3, comments that "our previous cross-platform solution was very complex and time-consuming. We were taking multiple steps and involved a large number of personnel to deliver a story on time. Now, thanks to Avid MediaCentral, we are working on producing news on a single platform from a single supplier, increasing efficiency across the company and reducing long-term maintenance and support costs."

“Now our journalists can easily access content to create a story, add graphics and publish on both traditional television and digital platforms, including a video on demand platform and our own news application, all from a single interface,” he adds.

Avid worked with Ericsson and Mediahub to implement an innovative new workflow for MTV3 based on MediaCentral, the industry's tightly integrated and efficient platform designed for media, to enable news management, production and delivery of cross-platform content in a single web-based user experience.
Finally, the Avid Maestro News graphics system allows MTV3 journalists to create real-time graphics and quickly ingest content with Avid Airspeed 5500 multi-channel video servers.
