Sapec announces at NAB the supply of 66 IRDs to RTVE clients in America

This delivery is the largest of a project where the units are installed in RTVE clients throughout the American continent to receive signals from the American headend.

Coinciding with NAB 2018, Sapec has announced that it has been chosen to deliver the greatest number of IRDs (66 units) as part of the project for the reception of signal Spanish Television across the American continent.

These equipment will be used mainly to receive RTVE's new HD channel, Star HD, and will be installed in different clients (mainly telecommunications and cable operators) in countries such as the United States, Mexico, Guatemala, Peru, Argentina and Colombia.

The equipment in question is Gredos IRD model GHR6202, with double power supply, IP output, Common Interface and of course DVB-S/S2/S2x reception. They have implemented the down-conversion functionality, which allows the video to be decoded in SD and HD simultaneously.

In addition to its competitive price, this award has weighed support for Keyfly encryption system, a system to guarantee the protection of services over DVB networks allowing the distribution of content to regional operators.

Although the teams will work in H.264 for now, the GHR6202 is equipped with HEVC decoding. In this way, customers protect their investment against the possible future update of the transmitted signal to this new compression algorithm.
