The cinema takes the Three Wise Men to Colmenar Viejo (Madrid)
Tierra de Cine and Vistas Reales, in collaboration with the Colmenar Viejo City Council, filmed the short film 'The Magic Night' that highlights the Madrid municipality as a film set.
Two local entities of Old Apiary, Land of Cinema, y Royal Views, in collaboration with the town's City Council, have filmed an interesting three-minute short in which the Wizards of the East tour the emblematic places of the municipality, very cinematic.
The magical night It is a short film full of enthusiasm, which will remind children and adults that the Three Wise Men will not miss their appointment, despite the COVID-19 restrictions. It will be projected on the big screen at the Odeón Cinemas in Tres Cantos, along with the usual programming, starting on December 18.
The short film has been made by a group of film professionals. The film director Victor Matellano, the director of photography David Cortazar, the musician Javier de la Morena, the sound engineer Mikel Z. Castells, the visual artist Daniel Fumero, and the equestrian masters Daniel and Javier Cancela, along with the actors Antonio Mayans, Antonio Albella and Alito Rodgers.
The objective of this story narrated by the actor Javier Dotu is to send the residents of Colmenar Viejo and nearby towns a message of magic and hope.
The short has a clear intra-cinematic character, since it is filmed in locations very frequented by cinema. The Dehesa de Navalvillar, where the battle of Spartacus by Stanley Kubrick, or the Hermitage of Our Lady of Remedies, that of El Cid, con Charlton Heston y Sophia Loren.
Both the horses and the costumes and props have appeared in quite a few film productions. Actors have also worked on filming in the area, for example, Antonio Mayans, who played the disciple Juan in King of Kings by Nicholas Ray.
