IN2IT Live by Woody Technologies advances remote ingestion with the help of AJA technology

Woody Technologies has developed an IP version of its popular IN2IT Live ingest solution, which will now include the reliable audio and video I/O card AJA His IP.

The French company, which from its headquarters in Paris and Los Angeles serves more than 80 clients around the world (CBS, France Télévisions, NBC, Nine Network, Sky and Univision), has popularized its capture solution IN2IT Live, especially with the increasing adoption of distributed workflows.

The video recording device can be configured and controlled remotely and includes a server with an AJA Corvid 44 or Corvid 88 multi-format I/O card for four- and eight-channel HD video capture, respectively. Now, Woody Technologies has also started developing an IP version of IN2IT Live, which will include an audio and video I/O card AJA Kona IP.

Most of Woody's IN2IT Live customers are small and medium-sized businesses, and since video ingest is a crucial part of the workflow, AJA cards were always part of their solution design plan.

IN2IT Live is designed to handle a wide range of live sources, from NDI and SDI streams to web streams and remote interview tools, including Skype and Microsoft Teams, among others.

Compatibilities

It integrates with a wide range of industry-standard media asset management and storage solutions and is compatible with the most popular codecs and recording formats used by post-production professionals. Video ingest operators can access and control multiple devices through a dedicated, intuitive web-based interface that allows them to schedule recordings and define recording parameters from virtually anywhere they have Internet access.

During production, IN2IT Live receives, records and encodes incoming video signals, and the AJA Corvid or Kona IP card will take care of video capture. The material is then transferred to central storage and made available to editors and other post-production professionals instantly. A proprietary metadata workflow ensures that when an IN2IT Live job is triggered, the content is organized and easily accessible.

Brelle recognizes that "more and more customers are coming to Woody for IP-enabled workflows. As customers' infrastructures begin to age and rebuild, they're thinking about how to future-proof themselves with IP, which makes a lot of sense. IP offers unprecedented flexibility and leaves the architecture more open to make future workflow iteration easier as new evolutions emerge. Along with the development of the IP product, Woody Technologies is exploring the possibility of developing solutions IN2IT Live with UltraHD and even HDR capability. Brelle explains, "We take a pragmatic approach to development, as we don't try to support all codecs, but instead focus on the ones our customers use every day. We develop tools that meet their most pressing needs. While HD is sufficient for most customers now, no one knows what the future holds, so we are looking into supporting advanced formats, which has been a common feature request."
