UHD Spain promotes a UHD signal production and emission course with the UPM

Registration has already opened for the new UHD Signal Production and Emission Course, an initiative of UHD Spain in collaboration with the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM).

The course program, which was created with the objective of train professionals with the new UHD signal characteristics in all the production chain, includes topics such as technical evolution of the television signal, IP production centers, UHD signal emission and transport systems, new generation NGA audio in UHD signal, UHD video, signal monitoring, live and delayed broadcast architectures, value-added services and content distribution and archiving.

The course, which will be taught in remote, will have 14 of teachers, all of them active professionals in the sector such as Carlos Castán, Canon Manager; Xavier Bonet, CCMA; Xavier Redón, Product Manager of Cellnex; Vicente Pla, COITT; Sonia Valladares, solutions engineer at Dolby; Ricardo Viñas, Senior Sound Consultant at Dolby Laboratories; Elena Burdiel, Research Associate at Fraunhofer IIS; Emili Planas, Director of Technology and Operations at Mediapro; Roberto Salvador, from RTVE; Juan José Anaya, Technical Director at SAPEC; Julián Fernández-Cammón, Technology Director of Tedial; Yeray Alfageme, Director of Business Development at Optiva Media and José Luis Blanco, professor at the Polytechnic University of Madrid; and coordinated by UPM Professor José Manuel Menéndez through his involvement in the UHD Spain association. Classes will include aspects of post-procesado, monitorización, archivado y explotación comercial de los contenidos emitidos o disponibles para servicios de valor añadido.

Para acceder al curso, aunque no se requiere ninguna titulación académica, se recomienda que el alumno haya cursado una titulación de grado universitario o ciclo superior en formación profesional relacionada con temas técnicos que incluyan estudio de la señal de audio y/o vídeo en la señal emitida en televisión, o comunicación audiovisual o la producción y realización de este tipo de contenidos.
