Atresmedia and Mediacrest will adapt the international competition 'The Floor'
Atresmedia Television, with the collaboration with Mediacrest, will give life to 'The Floor', an adaptation of the homonymous game show broadcast by RTL4 in the Netherlands.
In The Floor, 100 contestants they fight to gain territory on a gigantic LED floor divided into 100 squares. Each participant is placed in one of them and each one represents a different category of knowledge. The goal is simple: challenge opponents to conquer the entire ground. The contestants have to combine Insights and Strategy to conquer the squares next to his. To achieve this, they must challenge an opponent. They are faced with questions that are always based on images. The first one who runs out of time loses and is out of the game; The winning player of the duel conquers his opponent's square and thus expands his territory on the ground.
The Spanish version of The Floor, produced by Atresmedia Television in collaboration with Mediacrest (The Hunter), will be presented by Manel Fuentes, who is once again at the helm of an Atresmedia programme. After its success in the Netherlands, in France the adaptation of a version for prime time and a daily version (France 2 and France 3 respectively) has already been confirmed. In addition, the format is available in territories such as the US, the United Kingdom, Italy, Germany and Belgium, among other countries.
Carmen Ferreiro, director of entertainment programs at Atresmedia TV, is "delighted" to incorporate The Floor to the group's catalog, since it is a "Game show original and very innovative, attributes that we value very much for our formats and our way of understanding television". On the other hand Sebastian van Barneveld, director of international distribution at Talpa (the production company that owns the format), was delighted with the international journey of the format: "Spain is a market with a solid track record in competitions. The Floor It is a unique, current game show that catches you instantly. Epic Question Duels provide very impactful moments."
At last Daniel Domenjó, Mediacrest's entertainment director, assures that "it is an exciting challenge to produce such a powerful programme for Atresmedia, a contest with unique characteristics and the potential to please the general public", something that also "consolidates Mediacrest's commitment to quality entertainment".
