1,406 filmings leave an economic impact of 141 million euros in Andalusia in 2022
Andalucía Film Commission has presented the activity report corresponding to 2022, which certifies how the autonomous community continues to earn the trust of creators and producers by hosting a total of 1,406 filmings.
The memory, among other data, highlights the farewell to the negative effects of the suspension of activity caused by the declaration of the State of Alarm to combat the covid-19 pandemic, since, for the second consecutive year, the data reflects a return to normality of filming activity in Andalusia, but with the nuance that 2022 has left a 5.79% growth of the activity of the audiovisual sector in the eight Andalusian provinces.
The data indicate that the economic impact direct and indirect has been 141.242.800 euros, which means a 19.33% increase compared to the previous year, counting all the expenses generated by productions in the territory. The sum is distributed among all the sectors that are related to audiovisual productions, and increase the total economic impact in Andalusia by the filming industry to more than 1,290 million euros since 2011. A significant impact is also reflected in employment related to the sector, which has experienced an increase of 20.40% compared to 2021, reaching peaks of full employment on numerous occasions during the year, but with the important nuance that an image of stability and sustainability of the industry in Andalusia is shown. Andalusia FIlm Commission estimates that these productions have generated more than 23,000 direct and indirect jobs.
Andalucía Film Commission will continue to promote the region as filming set at future, as he has been doing in recent years at festivals such as the Spanish in London, the San Sebastián Festival, the Marché du Film de Cannes or the Berlinale. Coming soon, there will be a reverse locator mission from the United States and Canada.
The filming promotion organization has the support of Andalusian Tourism of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sports and Radio Television of Andalusia, trustees of the entity that brings together municipalities and cities from all over Andalusia in the so-called Network of Film Cities of Andalusia.
