Mikel Rueda and Rafa Montesinos direct 'The Gardener' for Netflix

Netflix 'El Jardinero' will begin early next year, a six-episode thriller created by Miguel Sáez Carral ('Ni una más') and written by himself and Isa Sánchez.

The address will be Mikel Rueda (Poison) y Rafa Montesinos (The Immortal) and the executive production of Jose Manuel Lorenzo (DLO Productions). The filming will take place in different locations in Spain such as Pontevedra, Madrid or Toledo.

The main cast is made up of Álvaro Rico (To heaven, Holy Family), Cecilia Suárez (The House of Flowers, Someone Has to Die) and Catalina Sopelana (Sky Red, Model 77), among others.

The Gardener tells the story of Elmer and his controlling mother, La China Jurado, who run a tree and plant nursery under which another prosperous and underground murder-for-hire business is hidden. For Elmer, murder is easy. An accident left him emotionless. However, while planning the murder of Violeta, a charming kindergarten teacher, he falls in love with her. Elmer will have to learn to love while his mother does everything possible to end Violeta's life.
