Adobe develops the new generation of Frame.io
Adobe reveals, at the doors of NAB 2024, the new Frame.io V4, a flexible, fast and intuitive creative collaboration platform that speeds up and simplifies workflows in the creation and production of content.
Frame.io V4 is designed for meet the complex needs of creative teams that offer personalized content on a large scale, centralizing feedback, helping to reduce revision rounds and accelerating the delivery of multimedia materials.
The next generation of Frame.io, announced ahead of NAB 2024, will begin rolling out today in beta for Frame.io Free and Pro customers, and is scheduled to launch later this year for Team and Enterprise customers.
With completely new work process management capabilities, anchored in a framework of dynamic metadata and a smart folder system called Collections, Frame.io V4 introduces a cloud based platform which is fully customizable, powerful and flexible enough to facilitate any creative workflow, for video and more. File transfer, media review and approval, sharing, and presentations have undergone a complete transformation in Frame.io V4, offering users a more powerful and intuitive platform for their most demanding creative projects.

New features
The new features give users a more powerful and intuitive platform for the most demanding creative projects, enabling richer, more expressive feedback and tighter review cycles.
Frame.io V4 offers a brand new metadata framework, which transforms the way users interact with files. Instead of relying solely on a rigid folder structure, users can now tag, organize, and view their media based on the way their teams work.
Additionally, Frame.io V4 also introduces Collections, a flexible real-time and saved view of files which allows users to dynamically select, filter, group and sort their media using metadata. Additionally, later this year, Frame.io will natively integrate with Workfront, enabling a new unified review and approval workflow that can streamline collaboration between cross-functional teams.
Frame.io V4 has a unified and redesigned player architecture to deliver an immersive and engaging media viewing experience, with consistent controls for different file types. Users will experience more and better ways to share feedback, including a completely revamped commenting system that includes more than a dozen new features.
On the other hand, it consolidates workflows to share and present content, giving users a more seamless experience when exploring, previewing and customizing, all from a single view.
Fully customizable, powerful, and flexible enough to meet the demands of any creative workflow, V4 serves creatives across the entire content development lifecycle, regardless of the file type used.
For example, when making castings and auditions, groups audition tapes by character, filtered by selections, while displaying metadata such as company, content, and availability. Assign tasks to selected team members to review, provide notes, and star rating.
Besides, manage location search, compare possible locations, organize scouting reports and manage logistical preparations to obtain the best shooting conditions.
Lastly, it facilitates daily reviews. Manage daily videos, ensuring that actors and executives see only the material relevant to them. Actors receive collections containing only their shots, while studio executives access dynamically updated collections organized by shooting day, scene, and selected shots.
