Czech TV interconnects its mobile units with LiveU IP technology

A series of encoders LiveU LU810 will allow Czech TV, the Czech Republic's state public broadcaster, redefine its news coverage and sports production by linking ten of its mobile units together.

Czech TV, the national public broadcaster of the Czech Republic, has launched one of the LiveU's biggest live production projects in the region for live sports and news coverage, using the LiveU on-site production. The project, designed and implemented with LiveU partner, Smart Informatics, team 10 mobile units with LiveU's linked IP technology, allowing Czech television to achieve flexible, cost-effective and future-proof live production workflows.

Until now, Czech TV relied heavily on satellites and landlines to power its fleet of mobile units. The new project introduces the LU810 fixed encoders and servers of LiveU in mobile units to provide radio and television bi-directional IP connectivity Reliable for live contribution and return signals.

The implementation is “unique in Europe” as it allows mobile units to not only connect to central facilities, but also exchange live signals with each other in different locations.
