Door G chooses Brompton Tessera to speed up the setup and synchronization of its VP environment
The processors Brompton Tessera expand the capabilities of the virtual production studio of Door G, a facility located in Rhode Island (USA) designed to offer “innovative, accessible and forward-thinking” strategies to the industry.
The virtual production studio Door G combines physical sets with digital environments, merged into a large wall LED 17×4 meters in the shape of a “J”. To feed this support, built with flat panels DB 1.95 of INFiLED and a central curve of flexible panels Xmk2 1.95, The technical direction of the studio opted to install processors 4K Tessera SX40 of Brompton along with five data distribution units XD 10G card.
The LED display was calibrated using the measurement system Hydra of Brompton, enabling HDR capabilities, with Tessera software features such as Extended Bit Depth and Dark Magic improving image quality, especially in darker scenes, improving overall results for customers. A key feature of the Tessera system, according to the Door G technical team, is ShutterSync. This feature allows the LED wall to automatically adjust to your camera settings, eliminating the need to make minute adjustments between shutter speeds and frame rates.
In parallel, the studio is seeking to integrate the function Frame Remapping from Brompton into your workflow, allowing multiple cameras to each view different content by displaying the same LED screen at the same time. Functions are also being explored Hidden Markers y Custom Markers from Brompton, solutions that open up new possibilities for superimposing images on LED environments that are hidden from the camera.
Joe Ross, senior video technician at Door G, is completely satisfied with the performance and technology possibilities Brompton: "It's like the Cadillac of LED processing in the world of virtual production. With its technology, we have the reliability, ease of use and excellent support that a small team like ours needs to be successful"
From Brompton itself, Webster Moyle, technical sales director, notes: "By incorporating Brompton's Tessera processors into its virtual production studio, Door G aims to be at the forefront of innovation in this rapidly evolving field. The advanced capabilities offered by Brompton technology fit perfectly with the studio's commitment to quality and efficiency, allowing them to push the boundaries of what is possible in virtual production. We are proud to support their journey and look forward to seeing the incredible projects that will undoubtedly be produced there."
