The Hispasat 36W-1 is already at the Kourou launch base
The new Hispasat satellite, with a useful life of 15 years, will offer multimedia services and cover the American continent and Europe, including the Canary Islands.
The Hispasat 36W-1 (H36W-1) satellite has been successfully transferred to the European Spaceport located in Kourou, French Guiana. Its transfer has been carried out after having passed all functional and environmental tests, and completing its manufacturing process at the IABG facilities in Ottobrunn (Germany).
The H36W-1 satellite has a launch mass of more than three tons. It has twenty transponders in Ku band and additional capacity of up to three transponders in Ka band and also includes a new active antenna for reception of reconfigurable beams that, together with the onboard processor, provides greater flexibility to the satellite. The new satellite, with a useful life of 15 years, will offer multimedia services and cover the American continent and Europe, including the Canary Islands.
