The newspaper is using LiveU's LU40 portable unit with connection over 3G and 4G in combination with a Panasonic HPX171 camera.

Hamburger Abendblatt, the Hamburg regional newspaper owned by Axel Springer, has adopted LiveU mobile network uplink solutions to expand its use of online video.

The newspaper is harnessing the power of live video to engage existing and new readers.

Panasonic AG-HPX171Hamburger Abendblatt is using the LiveU LU40 portable unit with connection over 3G and 4G in combination with a Panasonic HPX171 camera. For the backend they have a LiveU cloud server, the Brightcove online video platform and Akamai CDNs. Technical support is provided by Netorium, LiveU's German partner.

Sion Eilam, Key Account Executive at LiveU, has assured that "newspapers are operating in highly competitive markets with the gradual transfer of print to new online media, which represents both challenges and opportunities. We are very happy to work with the Hamburger Abendblatt on this project, and see how its local reach is being expanded through the use of video."
