EBU and ATEME intensify their cooperation

Spectacular deployment of encoders for the World Football Championship and for updating its news network.

ATEME Kyrion

Atem supplied seven hundred units of Kyrion encoders to the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). The EBU's global video network, the most popular sports content distribution platform among broadcasters, has transported all 64 matches of the World Football Championship in HD format, as well as the entire 4K television production of the 2014 FIFA World Football Championship in Brazil. The live coverage in 4K included the round of matches on June 28 (round of 16 matches), that of July 4 (quarterfinals) and the final.

Paolo Pusterla, Head of Procurement & Network partnerships en la UER, reconoce que “ATEME es nuestro fabricante de codificadores preferido, sobre todo para este evento de la Copa del Mundo. Estamos encantados de seguir trabajando con ATEME para producir las transmisiones en directo en formato 4K de la Copa Mundial de la FIFA”.

For his part, Michel Artières, CEO of ATEME, was very happy to have been chosen by the EBU “as a video compression provider for its HD television coverage of the 2014 World Cup. It is a pleasure to collaborate with such an important organization in the global distribution of sports and news transmission.”
