After 16 weeks, the filming of A monster comes to see me, a film by Juan Antonio Bayona starring Felicity Jones, Sigourney Weaver, Liam Neeson, Toby Kebbell and the young Lewis MacDougall.

Once the post-production phase began, Bayona was “very satisfied to have successfully completed the filming of A monster comes to see me, the most personal of the stories I have tackled to date. The narrative and technical challenge of this film is immense. We have more than a year of complex post-production ahead of us.”

A monster comes to see meBased on a novel by Patrick Ness, the film is a fantasy drama that tells the story of Conor, a 12-year-old boy who tries to cope with his mother's illness with the help of a monster that comes to visit him at night.

With this film, Bayona will close a trilogy about mother-child relationships that began with two Telecinco Cinema hits: The orphanage y Impossible.

A monster comes to see me combines great special effects with the performance capture technique, used in his day by Steven Spielberg to give life to Tintin or by Peter Jackson in the trilogy The Lord of the Rings.

For this work, the filmmaker has relied on a large part of the technical team that has accompanied him in his previous film works.

The film is a co-production of Apaches Entertainment in association with Telecinco Cinema and Movies La Trini. In the United States it will be distributed by Focus Features and has the participation of Participant Media, RiverRoad Entertainment and Lionsgate.

In Spain, Universal Pictures International Spain will release the film in autumn 2016.
