Tedial will demonstrate Evolution, its new generation of MAM, at BIT Experience
In a workshop, the company will offer its vision on how to use content management platforms and how to automate flows to gain efficiency and reduce operating costs.
Tedial has organized a workshop next Thursday, June 18 (11:15 a.m.) within the framework of the conference BIT Experience 2015, under the title Tedial Evolution: the new generation of MAM.
Julián Fernández-Campón, Head of Solutions Architecture at Tedial, will be in charge of leading this workshop in which it will be demonstrated how to use content management platforms and how to automate flows to gain efficiency and reduce operating costs.
The Malaga company will make it clear how they help their clients gain efficiency in their operations by showing different examples of their Tedial Evolution platform.
Regarding Evolution, he assures that "today we have the MAM of the future. The Evolution concept has a lot to do with our business model and solutions. We are always working on the evolution of the product, with a platform that is continually looking at the needs of the market. We do not work based on versions but on a generic platform that is used with different configurations meeting the different requirements of our clients. When we incorporate new functionalities, we incorporate them into this platform so that all clients benefit from them immediately. We are not a product company with versions, our philosophy is to offer a service platform that evolves. To achieve this, we make a strong commitment to development.”
Beyond selling products, Tedial has focused with great success on offering a solution with different software modules that are expanding. “We offer a solution with optional software modules, we do not sell independent products but services,” says Mesas.
At NAB, for example, Delivery was released, a module aimed at mass distribution of content on multiple platforms. Their clients needed to manage this distribution of content over the data network efficiently, and this module has come to satisfy this demand.
On the other hand, in its workshop at BIT Experience we will be able to see for the first time in Spain how its graphic interface has evolved to adapt to the technology that is currently needed: multi-screen, responsive, multi-platform... This change in appearance has led to an improvement in ergonomics and operability.
Esther Mesas emphasizes that "among the new functionalities is the evolution of the database we had, now based on objects related to each other, which give rise to collections and media files that provide more versatility to the platform with the consequent optimization of our clients' business. The Delivery module, for example, is the result of this interrelation of objects that allows our database to manage thousands of file flows at the same time. We are based on a type of professional search and indexing with databases. large volume data with a Google-type interface with separate index tables. These advances come from our experience in historical archives, where it is necessary to have the ability to search through a volume of content, which is beyond a simple production MAM. Our work with the historical material of 50 years of Spanish Television, gave us great experience designing a search and indexing engine capable of managing huge amounts of media.
And, according to Mesas, "we are in the era of metadata and the challenge is to be able to relate data from different objects related to each other. When you want to search for a material, you are not looking for something isolated but for everything that is related to it, such as a video file, audio, subtitles, documentation, all existing versions, or if it is crude, what editions have been made with the material... there is so much information that is now handled that it is essential to have a search engine and a very advanced database scheme. “intelligent.”
Projects
Tedial is experiencing a good moment in international sales with a turnover in 2014 of eight million euros (14.3% above the previous year), 80% coming from operations outside Spain.
In addition to its focus on broadcasters, the Andalusian group has opened a new line of business for the corporate sector, since corporations are beginning to use enormous amounts of audio, video and data.
The BIT Experience 2015 conferences are organized by IFEMA in collaboration with Panorama Audiovisual, and have the gold sponsorship of Abacanto, Aicox, Avid, Cellnex, Crosspoint-Grass Valley, Ericsson, Eurocom, Grupo Broadcast, Panasonic, SES Astra, Sony, Tedial, VSN and Xeltec, as well as Axion and Cires 21 as silver sponsors; and AEQ and KBN as bronze.
In these sessions, which will take place at Feria de Madrid on June 17 and 18, more than seventy experts from numerous audiovisual fields will participate in plenary presentations, workshops and round tables.
