Vizrt between IP architecture and virtual and augmented reality

Vizrt is demonstrating complete IP production and playback workflows at several collaborator booths during NAB 2017 under NewTek's SMPTE-2110 and NDI standards, among others.

Michael Hallèn, who debuts at this NAB 2017 as the new CEO of Vizrt, began the Norwegian company's press conference at the fair by assuring that in the last year alone, a hundred new clients have joined from broadcasters, traditional media such as the Washington Post or large sports corporations.

Vizrt is demonstrating complete IP production and playback workflows at several contributor booths during NAB 2017. Supported formats to be showcased include SMPTE-2110, NewTek NDI and others.

Vizrt's full IP capabilities can be found at the AIMS stands where SMPTE-2110 with video, audio and PTP 2059-2 synchronization is presented; NewTek, where we can see its interrelationship with the NDI protocol; Arista Networks, which showcases SMPTE-2022-6 along with EVS as a video source; Evertz, where an SMPTE-2110 configuration is presented, just like in the Harmonic space.

On the other hand, Vizrt now shows Viz Engine integrated with the IP card Matrox X.mio3 multi-channel video input and output over 10 GbE to run the SMPTE-2110 format with video, audio and PTP 2059-2 synchronization. The Matrox

Vizrt con Epic Unreal Engine 4

One of the surprises of the fair has been the integration of Vizrt with Epic Unreal Engine 4. Vizrt has created an alliance with Epic and Ncam to merge visualization methods in video games and transmit together to create a new, creative and powerful design capability. In NAB it shows the combination of these worlds in the Big AR Show, an interesting live augmented reality show.

Stephan Würmlin, Chief Product Officer at Vizrt, highlighted that “our technology is present in the most impressive virtual and augmented reality projects.” In the case of Spain they work with our solutions BeIn Sports and Movistar; in Portugal, TVI; in Brazill, Globosat; in Argentina, Arte and Telefé; in Mexico, Tv Azteca; and in the United States, NBC and Bloomberg TV, among many others”

Also new at this fair is the possibility of collaborating now in the cloud with the Viz Story tool. This solution allows media companies to quickly create video stories with real-time 3D graphics and distribution across online and social media. In this way it is possible to create attractive content quickly and available to the public on any device. Viz Story's main interface is accessible from any web browser and now opens up the possibilities of collaboration in the cloud.

Also noteworthy is that Vizrt shows the most recent integrations of the company's asset management tools with the professional video applications included in Adobe Creative Cloud. The new features give editors a fast and highly collaborative video editing experience using the next generation of Vizrt panels for Adobe applications.

Discovery y Eurosport

Discovery Networks Norway and Eurosport have expanded their coverage across all their linear television, OTT and social media platforms with Viz Story, Vizrt's video publishing and editing system.

The Discovery team is using Viz One, Vizrt's media asset management system, to ingest live feeds from Norwegian football league matches. Signals become immediately available in Viz Story, so users can begin editing content for all of Discovery's different platforms with full, advanced real-time 3D graphics. The easy-to-use web interface allows users to edit a story once and automatically adjust video and graphics in different image formats for Facebook and other websites.

Thanks to its IP architecture, Viz Story can be accessed through any browser, making it possible for many of its journalists and production staff to become content producers. The easy-to-use interface allows them to create and publish stories quickly and simultaneously on air, online and on social networks.
