AMC Networks International Southern Europe

AMC Networks International Southern Europe reinforces its position in the production and distribution of pay television channels after acquiring all of The History Channel Iberia after buying 50% from Hearst.

The History Channel Iberia operated as a joint venture between AMC Networks International and Hearst since 2019 and previously with A+E Networks between 1998-2019. The History Channel Iberia is producer and distributor of the documentary channels Canal History, Crime + Investigation y Blaze, thus having the largest portfolio of channels and documentary content in Spain and Portugal.

Canal Historia is the audience leader in the documentary segment on pay television in Spain. The world-renowned brand has renowned international and local productions. For its part, Crime + Investigation is the reference channel in the investigation of real crimes and Blaze is a channel with the best non-fiction entertainment offer aimed mainly at a male audience.

The channels are distributed by the main payment operators in Spain, Portugal and Africa and reach more than 10 million subscribers.

AMC Networks International Southern Europe (AMCNISE) produces and distributes 25 thematic television channels for the markets of Spain, Portugal, France and Italy designed for all types of audiences: Cinema and series (AMC, Canal Hollywood, SundanceTV, Dark, XTRM, Somos and Blast); factual (Odyssey, History Channel, Crime + Investigation and Blaze); lifestyle (Canal Cocina and Canal Decasa); musical (Sun Music); children's (Panda and Biggs Channel); and generalist (Selekt). The company develops projects in the DTC field such as Microcanales, OdiseaVR or Planet Horror.

Canal Hollywood, Canal Panda, Biggs and Casa e Cozinha are produced exclusively for the Portuguese market through Dreamia, a company 50% owned by AMC Networks International Southern Europe and NOS.
