Mo-Sys allows creators to reduce the complexity of augmented reality
Mo-Sys Engineering is supporting content creators to enter the professional broadcast market with the technology and training necessary to harness the power of Unreal Engine. Epic Games to achieve more impactful augmented reality (AR) in sports and outdoor productions.
For the high-speed action of E1 boat racing at the Visit Qatar E1 Doha GP, Mo-Sys helped Badass Studios to offer real-time AR graphics for remotely operated aerial shots overlooking the Corinthia Yacht Club on Pearl Island. Mo-Sys combined the power of VP Pro with encoded data from your camera head and telemetry data from Badass Studio XR's boat to create these broadcast-quality images.
“The Mo-Sys team helped us provide a cutting-edge live tracking solution in difficult conditions, delivering results in record time,” he says. Rosemary Lokhorst, CEO of Badass Studio XR. "They provided invaluable initial project support and on-site guidance, ensuring seamless execution at the E1 Qatar GP in Doha. Their experience and commitment were instrumental in Badass Studio XR providing our client with top-quality AR and VR broadcast assets."
Traditionally, AR graphics required specialized knowledge in 3D content creation, camera tracking, and sports broadcasting. Mo-Sys reduces these complexities, leveraging Unreal Engine to make the creation of 3D AR content more accessible. This Mo-Sys initiative is intended to inject new creativity into broadcast graphics, promising more engaging and immersive content in sports, news and entertainment.
Michael Geissler, CEO of Mo-Sys Engineering, acknowledges that "we are proud to empower a new generation of content creators, helping them bring their creativity to the world of AR in broadcast environments. By combining our experience, technology and software with the capabilities of Epic Games' Unreal Engine, we are opening new possibilities for innovative, high-quality broadcast AR graphics."
Mo-Sys will showcase this latest advancement in reducing complexity in augmented reality April 6-9 at NAB 2025 in Las Vegas (Booth N3039 in the North Hall), where it will showcase its comprehensive suites of remote heads, encoding systems, VP Pro software, VP Academy training and project support.
